The Encyclopedia of Puget Sound is published by the University of Washington's Puget Sound Institute and represents the collective knowledge of leading experts from state and federal agencies, academic institutions and Puget Sound area tribes. It is intended as a primary source for synthesized and integrated scientific information on the Puget Sound and greater Salish Sea watersheds.
Salish Sea Science Roundtable 06.05.24 | Enhancing climate change planning in marine protected areas
Marine Protected Areas are being deployed globally to protect the Earth’s biodiversity in rapidly changing oceans. Nesting climate change considerations within adaptive Marine Protected Area management and monitoring is becoming a more common approach, and climate change is increasingly addressed in Marine Protected Area planning but implementation gaps remain. Kaia Bryce and Karen Hunter shared highlights from their new research evaluating how robustly climate change is incorporated into Marine Protected Area monitoring plans. The adaptive management cycle is a core climate adaptation strategy, but incomplete in many of these cases.

There is a second of these models located at Pacific Science Center (or at least there was for many years; I haven’t been there recently) that still operates with the analog computer. They still exist in the Puget Sound!? I remember there used to be a lot in Agate Pass, around the corner from Port Madison, north end of Bainbridge Island, where exactly was this?
